Program Notes:
This evening program used mostly natural light sources to replace the need for flashlights. Paths to activities were illuminated by torches, as was the campfire area. Though canoes may have been on a “star chase”, they followed a course defined by floating campfires for bouys. Different colored cylalume sticks that glow in the dark were attached to the bow and stern of each canoe. Night snorkeling was staged on the other side of the lake, also using cylalume sticks, which were attached to wetsuit Jackets. To illumine “the deep”, the snorkelers used underwater spot lights which cast a ghostly
glow on the surface of the water.
